History

A vision that began in 1973.

The story of Asian Christian Academy began in 1973 with a simple but ambitious vision. Three seminary students studying at Dallas Theological Seminary dreamed of establishing a seminary in southern India. With $10,000, they purchased approximately 50 acres in Hosur, just south of Bangalore, and began laying the foundation for what would become Asian Christian Academy. Dr. Joy George served as its founding president.

As the ministry became more deeply connected to the surrounding community, its work expanded. Seeing the need for stronger educational opportunities for children in nearby villages, ACA established Asian Christian High School in 1996. What began as a commitment to theological education was becoming a broader ministry of education, care, and service.

Today, ACA is home to multiple ministries serving people at different stages of life—from K–12 and theological education to autism services, culinary training, healthcare, and emerging opportunities in higher education. Across each of these efforts, the original vision continues: to prepare people to serve, lead, and bring hope to their communities.
